Journal

My name is Michael Kelly, my parents died when I was 12 ,my sister Bridget was 16, my brother Lawrence was 18 and my other brother was 19. My father had a heart attack on the trip to the United states and my mother committed suicide soon after. was a hard trip when we arrived an Eilis Island we made it through and I got a job as labour in the docks. While Lawrence and Bridget were carpenters and Thomas worked at the woodmill. We got a four bedroom house one for each of us we started out with little to eat but after a while we got used to the small amount of food. After a few years we got more money and were able to afford more food and better cloths. But after five years in America Lawrence died because he was he by a car on his way to work. He was 33. Eventually got over it. We rented his room for some extra money.

Statue Of Liberty

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Emma Lazarus’

Saint Valentine's Day Massacre Paper

In this we’ll talk about who was involved in the Saint Valentine's Day massacre and what it was. Firstly, what was the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre? It was the name for the murder of seven men in the time of the prohibition era. Further more, who was involved in this event? This event was participated in by the South Side Italian lead by Al Capone (The shooters) and the North Side Irish lead by Bugs Moran (The victims.) Clearly, this was a horrible event but maybe not for all people involved.
And now we’ll talk about when this occurred who was killed and where this was. Firstly, when this happened. This was on February evening in 1929 where four men were found riddled with holes. Next, where they were found. They were found in S.M.C Cartage Co. garage. Finally, who were these men? Well they were all bootleggers working for Bugs Moran Except for one who was a man who was named Albert Weinshank. These men were all lined up against a wall to be shot to death. Clearly, these two gangs had some grudge to settle with each other.
Now we can find out why there was one man who wasn’t a bootlegger. Firstly, where was Bugs Moran? Bugs was actually running late to the meeting (aka the assassination). Finally why didn’t he come into the building? When he arrived the shooting had been done and when he saw a cop car he fled the seen unknowingly saving his life. Clearly, this wasn’t completely bad for Bugs but it was for everybody else.
Ok so what happened here, well seven men were killed by the opposite gang and one of them being at the wrong place at the wrong time because he wasn’t in any of the gangs. The man who was there and they thought was Bugs Moran wasn’t. And this was a good thing for bugs because he saw the cop cars a fled saving his life without knowing it.

The Roaring 20's

The 20's was also a bad time for men because they would go to a saloon after a hard days work and spend all the MONEY they needed to support there families. The MONEY went straight to the show girls. The families could set a amount against how much they spent. And they could just outlaw it. And don't forget the law against selling beer.

The Roaring 20's

The 1920's the American public was making money and was able to spend it. On stuff like a fridge, car, phones, and radios. Now the cars costed only $290. This pobably was the best time for any American becaus they didn't have to Worry about MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!
